One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in CBD

Located on Upper Queen Street, close to Civic Hall, hidden underground next to a cohort of other Japanese restaurants is my all time favourite- Kura

This place is one of my favourite places for catch-up dinner with my friends and family.
Over the years they have added new dishes on the menu including fried small shrimps as appetizer, grilled salted salmon heads etc.

I love their soft shelled crab sushi and dishes as they are not commonly found in other restaurants.

I love their sashimi too, the seafood yaki-soba noodles....the list go on.

The Prawn tempura sushi roll is a must have for tempura lovers. I love how they put a little modern touch by splashing mayonaise (or other food material) here and there onto the dishes, almost like an abstract art (or a 3 y/o kid's crayon drawing if you look at it the other way).

Visited this place recently with my family and friends, and again, Kura has not failed me! Overall this is a great place for some semi-modern Japanese food with a trace of tradition. Great environment too!
